Google’s bots are adept at reading the content on your page and evaluating both it’s standalone quality—is it well written, well structured and readable—and how relevant it is to the search query.

Relevancy is determined by more than just repeating the target keyword “best cooking pots” a thousand times on your page. It’s also based on what other words often appear alongside your target keyword, what else does good content around “best cooking posts” include? Finally, user experience. Perhaps the most important ranking factor (which decides whether you’re on the first page or the last), is how people interact with your site.

Google watches what happens when people browse the SERPs and the results, and what happens when they actually click onto your website.
